My wife and I spent Independence Day checking out a semi-close state park for the first time. Raven Rock State Park is near Lillington, NC, about an hour south of Raleigh. The best way to sum up this park is by saying that it’s like being in the mountains without actually being in the mountains. The Cape Fear River cuts right through the park, with most of the trails being on the south side.
Below you will find some images from our adventure. Look forward to seeing more too because we plan to go back and tackle a couple more trails we didn’t hit this first trip. For more info visit the NC Parks page for Raven Rock State Park.
